Engaging Visions Showcase Exhibition

On Thursday evening the 13th March the Engaging Visions Showcase Exhibition was opened and the project website launched at The Connection in downtown Tumut. About 30 members of the community attended the event. 18 works in various media by 13 artists were on display. The intention of the exhibition was to give the Tumut community a tangible example of type of artwork that might be produced as a result of the program that is currently underway. In attendance were Gene Vanzella - the Mayor of Tumut Shire, Glen Waterhouse - Tumut Shire Economic Development Officer, the Deputy Mayor James Hayes, Chris Adams - Shire Manager, Duncan Watt - Forests NSW, artists Sue McDonnald, Winifred & Jess Bulger, Christina Irving, Karen Hayes - Tumut High School and artist with some of her Year 11 art students, Patricia Managelsdorf - Princupal Tumut Catholic High School, Louise Halsey - Adelong Heritage Trailblazer & Churchill Fellow, Mark Lipscomb - Adelong Alive Museum, Kevin & Sue Swan - Tumut Museum Society among many others. A special thanks to Hansey Armour for the use of The Connection as a gallery venue. Thanks also to Jenelle & Peter Becker who also attended and later hosted the artists to wholesome supper at their home.
